We have a lot of events this week and we need your help!
Tuesday, November 11th
10-2pm : Linn Co. Veterans Day Parade – Salem Indivisible, East Linn Indivisible, will be marching in the Linn Co. Veterans Day Parade. They have invited Indivisible Benton County to march along with them in Solidarity. We need more people to march through the Parade and hold banners and signs. We will be marching with a banner, “Vets Defend The Constitution”. A message decided in partnership between Visibility Brigade and Veterans for Peace. 3-4:30pm : “No Oath to Trump” – Visibility Brigade and Veterans for Peace will be holding an overpass banners at two locations. This is a great way to reach a lot of people with messages that are meaningful and represent our values. The two messages that will be flown are, “Veterans Depend The Constitution” and “No troops in unconstitutional conflicts”. Wednesday, November 12th
5-6pm : Weekly Wednesday Protest will be held at the Benton County Courthouse. Protest is a vital aspect of visibility and continuing the pressure for the movement. With each sign, protest, and march, the movement continues to grow and spread. Sign up on Mobilize.
6:30-8:30pm : After the protest, head over to the Corvallis Community Center for our general meeting that will start promptly at 6:30pm. We have a special invited speaker training on ICE watch and Human Rights Observers. With the ramp up of ICE activity within our state, we must learn how to respond. We must learn to protect our neighbors and ourselves. Sign up on Mobilize.
Friday, November 14th
8-12pm : Rogue One Breakfast at the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center. Due to funding cuts, the Hygiene Center will not be openning on weekends and we will return to our normal serving days of friday. We will be back at the CDDC on November 14th to cook and service, pancakes and cheese omelletes! Come and join the fun! It’s a great atmosphere and we must continue to support our unhoused neighbors. Saturday, November 15th
7-1pm : Corvallis Farmers Market. There are only a few more farmers market volunteer opportunities this season! It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors and have some really awesome converations. You’ll find that there are more of us than them. Sign up here on Mobilize.
10-12pm : Rally against the Coffin Butte Landfill Expansion. Join VNEQS (Valley Neighbors for Environmental Quality and Safety) from 10 – noon on Saturday November 15th at the Benton County Courthouse to learn more about the next steps in the fight to stop the expansion of Coffin Butte Landfill. Connect with others who oppose the expansion, celebrate the community that has coalesced to protect the people and environment of Benton County, and find out what you can do moving forward in the landfill expansion fight. Bring a witty sign or make one at the event!
