The date for No Kings III has been announced: March 28th! These events take an extraordinary amount of preparation and logistics. We had 6500 people in the streets of Corvallis on No Kings II! We need your help to make No Kings III even bigger. We need to send a clear message to Trump and the American people that we will not stand by and allow this authoritarian regime to dismantle our country.

At our next general meeting on Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30pm*, in the Main Meeting Room at the Corvallis Library, all the action committees will be meeting and planning for this year. The Events Committee will focus on No Kings III. If you would like to help with planning but are unable to attend, please email [email protected] with the subject “No Kings planning.”

At the meeting, we will focus on brainstorming, planning the overall event, and forming subcommittees:
  • Safety and de-escalation: holding de-escalation and safety trainings, developing a safety plan
  • Publicity: flyers, press releases, contacting news media, social media, photos/videos
  • Logistics: Organizing volunteers, purchasing, tracking materials & supplies
  • Engagement: Art, music, interactive activities to increase engagement with the movement
  • Collaboration: Liaising with community groups, activist groups, businesses, unions, faith organizations, educational institutions, etc. to involve as broad a swath of the community as possible
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. Nonviolent peaceful action is not passive. It is a well-studied form of civil resistance that has been shown to be far more successful than the alternative. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. We believe that safety and de-escalation is every participants’ responsibility. To this aim, we will be arranging training sessions on this topic, which will be announced in future newsletters.
