Indivisible Benton County Recap Gen. Mtg. & CHS/CVHS walkout
General meeting
Hoiyee Cheung, director of Culturas Unidas and Growing Ancestral Roots, gave a heart-warming talk about their incredible work, empowering marginalized groups. Their resilience, community spirit, and dedication for one another are an inspiration, and we hope that people will consider donating to their group. Click HERE to donate.
The remainder of our general meeting was dedicated to our action committees and new member orientation. Our next meeting will be on January 28th, 2026 and will be at the Corvallis Community Center. We will have set up and social time starting at 6:00 pm and will begin the meeting at 6:30 pm.
CHS/CVHS walkout
Corvallis High School, Crescent Valley High School, and Linus Pauling Middle School students walked out of their schools on Friday and marched down 4th Street, protesting the Trump regime and the loss of democracy in the US. The schools must have been nearly empty, as the turnout was breathtaking, probably well over a thousand students. They stood, spoke, sang, and chanted in front of the courthouse. They were an inspiration – to us and to each other.
Cheryl Stevenson, Indivisible Benton County
We would like to thank all the students who organized this protest. It was rejuvenating to see that the future of our country will be in the hands of those who are engaged, compassionate, and hopeful.
