This letter has four main goals

  • To invite you to become part of a canvassing team and go out into the community,  meet people where they are and invite them to participate in the No Kings III protest. –this is an urgent call!
  • To urge you to contact Congress immediately to stop the Iran war – this is an urgent action!
  • To give you a quick report on Oregon’s legislative session

Come Aboard!

Please reply to this email or write to [email protected] with the subject Legislative Team to be included on the Legislative Team’s email list. You will be kept up to speed with what we are doing and open a space to have your voice heard. Please express in the body of your email if you are interested in joining us to spread the word about No Kings III.

Canvassing for No Kings III.

Why is it important to go knock on doors to invite people to the protest? The truth is that many in our community still don’t know when protests are happening and, more importantly, why they are happening. These are people who are not paying attention to the seriousness of that is happening or are unsure if our events are safe.

Talking directly to folks allows us to bridge the distance. We meet them at where they are, listen to them and let them listen to us. This helps folks understand the reasons we protest. We can reassure them of our commitment to nonviolence and explain the safeguards we have in place to make sure that we stay safe and nonviolent.

Call Congress

Trump has launched unauthorized military strikes on Iran, dragging the United States into yet another war without approval from Congress. Congress has a constitutional obligation to assert its war powers immediately and block any further military action. The Constitution is clear: Congress, NOT the president, holds the power to declare war and to approve or disapprove sustained military engagement. Both the House and Senate are expected to vote on war powers resolutions **THIS WEEK** Contact your member of congress and demand to stop the illegal war!
