Indivisible BC Legislative Commitee met with Congresswoman Val Hoyle’s office!

Members of the Indivisible BC Legislative Committee attended Congresswoman Val Hoyle’s traveling office hours on June 5th at the Benton County Courthouse. They met with Congresswoman Hoyle’s Chief of Staff Karmen Fore.

  1. We were told that Rep. Hoyle is working hard to have rapport and influence across “the aisle”.
  2. When we asked about what bills are in the pipeline we were told that they don’t know yet but are aware that stalemates are causing things to “fall through the cracks” and that bills due for review/renewal aren’t always being addressed.
  3. As to what we can do as individuals and as an organization, it was emphasized that we need to make our voices loud, because of the administration’s attempts to silence people and groups.
    • Ms. Fore said it is very important for us to continue to contact Hoyle, Merkley and Wyden and to share our support and concerns and that it doesn’t matter if it is phone calls, emails or letters – all are noted.
  4. Ms. Fore also emphasized that the 2026 elections should be a focus, with proactivity and outreach to disenfranchised voters.
