| To help Guatemalan families heavily impacted by immigration enforcement and seasonal job reduction, Culturas Unidas will be selling Guatemalan tamales. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the families who make them. Culturas Unidas will be managing the Coho kitchen and coordinating pickup by customers.
The tamales (chicken with chiles wrapped in banana leaf) are 2 for $6. Order by 4 p.m., January 9th, using this form. Pick up the tamales on January 10th at 6 p.m. from Coho Common House (1975 SE Crystal Lake Drive, Corvallis). Cash-only at pick-up. This fundraiser is a preview of some of the work being done by Culturas Unidas and Growing Ancestral Roots. The director of these organizations, Hoiyee Cheung, will be the featured speaker at our next General Meeting (Jan. 14). |
