Community Corner: Neighbors Stand Together
Tamales for a Cause
NeST: Neighbors Stand Together is composed of members of Indivisible Benton County and other local community organizations. Our mission is to raise emergency funds for our most vulnerable immigrant neighbors in Linn and Benton counties. The NeST fund focuses on creating joyful community events and celebrations, while raising much-needed funds to help our neighbors survive.
On January 30th, from 5:30-7:30 pm, at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Social Hall (2945 NW Circle Blvd, Corvallis), the NeST fund presents Tamales for a Cause. Professional cook, Rommy, from Sabor Tamales, will lead a workshop that includes some of her best secrets for achieving the perfect tamale. All materials are provided, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Participants leave with ready-to-cook tamales. The suggested donation is $20-$50. Register for the workshop here.
