No Kings III Volunteers

Volunteers Needed for No Kings III

We had 6500 people in the streets of Corvallis on No Kings II! We need your help to make No Kings III even bigger!

Update: With less than 2 days to go before the event, we are no longer accepting new volunteers.

Thank you for your interest, and please consider volunteering next time!

Volunteers for March 28

To pull this off, we will need 100 safety/peacekeeping volunteers, plus dozens of people to set up tables, art, and sound equipment; staff information and first aid tables; and clean and pack up afterwards. See additional info below.

Safety Team

Our biggest need is for safety volunteers! See the height of the blue progress bar to the left; the light blue bars show the  additions since the previous week.

As a safety team member, you’ll help keep participants safe at crosswalks while allowing traffic to flow. To serve on the safety team, you’ll need:

  1. The Physical ability to walk and monitor for 2–3 hours in Downtown Corvallis during the event (breaks will be offered). Shorter shifts are available. Please let us know when you are available when you sign up.
  2. To attend one de-escalation training. No more in person training will be offered; however, we will send you links to some recorded videos when you volunteer.
  3. To attend one mandatory safety team training session (either the evenings of 3/19 or 3/21 at the Corvallis library). A make-up session may be available if you are unable to attend either.
  4. A commitment to nonviolent and lawful action.

No prior experience is necessary!

To volunteer for the Safety Team, please email indivisible.bc.or@gmail.com with the subject “No Kings Safety Volunteer”.

Other ways to volunteer on the day of the event

To volunteer for any of the following roles, please email indivisible.bc.or@gmail.com with the subject “No Kings volunteer” and indicate which task(s) you are willing to do.

  • Photographers/videographers
    • Take photos and videos & upload to a common location
    • Needed: 2 – 3 more photographers/videographers
  • Media assistant (~1:45 – 2:30 pm)
    • Assist the media liaison in selecting and cropping photos to send to news outlets by 2:30 pm.
    • We will have an office next to the courthouse with an internet connection, so you can return to the protest afterwards.
    • Needed: 1 media assistant
  • Transport items from storage to the event on the morning of No Kings, or back to storage afterwards
    • Pick up items from storage ahead of time (e.g. earlier on Saturday or Friday evening)
    • You’ll need the ability to lift folding tables, canopies, etc.
    • If you have a vehicle that can fit largish items (folding tables, canopies, etc.), that would be useful; however, we also need help loading/unloading in general.
    • Needed: 3 to the event, 3 from the event
  • Set up or clean up
    • Set up begins by 11 am.
    • Help transport items to/from cars.
    • Help set up the Indivisible and First Aid tables.
    • Help other organizations find locations to set up & ensure they understand any restrictions based on the location (OSU, Central Park, or Courthouse).
    • Clean up at OSU will begin around 1 pm.
    • Clean up at the Courthouse and Central Park begins at 3 pm.
    • Safety team members should not volunteer for set up.
    • Needed: set up: 5 more; clean up: 6 more
  • Parade coordination and check in assistant (11:30 am – 1 pm)
    • Help check in groups as they arrive for the parade

    • Needed: 1 – 2 Parade Assistants
  • Staffing Indivisible tables
    • Provide information to attendees about Indivisible and our various projects.

  • Staffing First Aid tents
    • Some medical/first aid experience is useful. However, much of what we do is distribute water & provide folks with a place to sit down if they are not feeling well. We will pair folks without medical experience with those with experience.
    • This is a good volunteer position if you are not able to stand for long, but can get up and help when needed.
    • Needed: 2 more
  • Drones for crowd counting/videos
    • Ideally pilots w/ commercial drone license
    • Ideas for locations where we can get permission to fly.

Indivisible’s commitment to nonviolent and lawful action

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
