Coffin Butte is an environmental and economical hazard for Benton County

Republic Services has twice asked the Benton County Planning Commission to approve an expansion of Coffin Butte landfill. Both times, the Commission unanimously voted no. Now Republic is appealing,  hoping that no doesn’t mean no.

The Coffin Butte Landfill is not smart, clean, reliable or safe. It is already polluting air and water and violating environmental laws. HERE is what you need to know about it.
