Long Term

Invest in the Long Term

Every individual action we take, from going to a rally to calling our representatives, makes a difference. But the biggest impact we can make is through building the capacity to keep this movement strong for the long term by growing the movement. Now is the time to find yourself an organizing home (or multiple homes).

If No Kings Day proved anything, it’s that we are stronger together. Join these incredible movements as they continue to build toward a brighter future.

  • One Million Rising: One Million Rising is a national effort to train one million people to help lead in this moment and gain the skills to lead others. This is how we build people power that can’t be ignored. You’re invited to join us — and lead.
  • League of Conservation Voters — Connect With State Affiliates: Tap into the League of Conservation Voters’ network of 32 state affiliates to take action on climate justice and democracy protection. • ACLU — Popular Education Training Series: Join a virtual training series focused on relational organizing, storytelling, and shifting public opinion through popular education. This is a great entry point for organizers who want to build skills and grow their local base.
  • Indivisible — Find Your Local Indivisible Group: Whether you’re new to activism or a seasoned leader, there’s a place for you in this people-powered movement.

    Other Resistance Opportunities

It is important to continue standing strong and to develop a widening, effective, sustained, and engaged resistance. Here are some upcoming opportunities to dive into information and resources that will help you and your Indivisible group develop the skills to strategize for short and long-term planning.

    Resistance Lab with Pramila Jayapal

    Sunday July 13th, 11:00 am – 1:00 PM

The Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. In the first lab, learn how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. Then you can use these frameworks to understand this moment at home, and incorporate interactive conversation with others to help create community and build our resistance movement. Register here.

The opposition regularly uses racial fear as a tool to exploit economic realities and turn people against one another. The Race Class Narrative messaging and analysis help us fight back against these attacks to build solidarity across differences. Register here.
