It was a sunny day in front of the Corvallis court house. Folks came out to remember & to honor labor, but activists planning marches in the United States say much of their message is about fighting back against President Donald Trump’s policies targeting immigrants, federal workers and diversity programs. I also like to think of it as a distress call, the “may day may day” , the distress call of our country at risk. In a sense Trump has done a service by uniting us, who have deep feelings with our sense of empathy and justice. We would like to honor our neighbors as well, those who chose to champion their cause publicly, and those who cheered them on.
